Big McIntosh is Applejack's and Apple Bloom's older brother, the brother-in-law of Caramel and Tender Taps, the maternal uncle of Jonathan Buck, the eldest grandson of Grand Pear and Granny Smith, the eldest son of Bright Mac and Pear Butter, and part of the Apple family. He makes his debut in the EFF Agents series in Apple Family visit, during which he is seen following the other members of the Apple family. His maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather were never seen or mentioned. In My Little Pony: The Book of Golden Oak - Castle of the Elite, he is one of the six main protagonists (along with Soarin', Flash Sentry, Fancypants, Shining Armor, and Cheese Sandwich).
Ending
Big Mac walks up to his mother's grave and puts flowers on it. The camera zooms away from Big Mac for a second, and then the camera zooms in on Big Macintosh, meaning that some pony is walking towards him. After a while, Big Mac turns around and pulls out a bayonet. Grand Pear is shown as being the pony that was behind him. He is also holding a flowers as well. Big Mac stares at his maternal grandfather. Grand Pear shakes his head. Big Mac turns his head and looks at his mother's grave. Big Mac turns his head back towards Grand Pear's direction. Big Mac decides to walk away from the place. Grand Pear proceeds to visit his daughter's grave. Big Mac is shown smiling happily as the screen fades to white. He appears again in EFF Agents the movie 3- 25 years later, as Fluttershy's boyfriend.
